WILLOW RANCH is located just a mile west and south of the town of ENNIS, MT. in the magnificent MADISON VALLEY. Three separate mountain ranges surround and define the valley's borders. A multitude of streams, creeks, major tributaries and lakes all eventually feed into the MADISON RIVER, a "Blue Ribbon Trout Stream" beyond compare.

WILDLIFE abounds throughout the Madison Valley and into the highest reaches of the towering mountains. Large ranches dominate the landscape with their hay ground and livestock. The air is thin and clear, the Sky is Big and blue. Residents of the entire Valley are a community of friendly, welcoming people. Please come and recreate with us in this very special place.

WILLOW RANCH OUTFITTING is owned solely by Storrs Bishop. We have maintained permits, over the past 40 years, on both the Beaverhead and Gallatin National Forests. The area adjacent to the western border of Yellowstone National Park is now the Lee Metcalf Wilderness Area and is administered by the Hebgen Lake Ranger District in West Yellowstone, Mt. The District office is a good resource for WILDERNESS information, rules and regulations.

The Taylor-Hilgard complex of high rugged peaks, alpine basins, and pristine mountain lakes is an awe inspiring experience.. However, from the first step, into a WIDERNESS Area, be it on foot or on a horse with a large group or just yourself and a guide, you begin to sense the power and then the peace of a totally natural “world”.

The focus of our operation, Willow Ranch Outfitting, is to provide a safe, secure, comfortable and competently outfitted WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE for every client on every TRIP.

We also arrange DAY RIDES (horseback) and almost any recreational activity you may request.

This year we will be joined with Jeff and Shylea Wingard of WOLFPACK OUTFITTERS. They, and their "crew", have years of EXPERIENCE in HUNTING, camping and riding in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. Jeff, (Lic.#1799-OUT) is a lifetime hunter and Shylea has taken day-rides and helped in camps for many years. We still have openings for Sept/ARCHERY and a couple of spots for Oct/RIFLE.Check our other pages for further details. Thanks for your interest in WILLOW RANCH OUTFITTING.
